Volunteer with Us

The Wild Rose Chapter wouldn't exist without volunteers to plan events, update our website, run webinars, write our newsletter, and serve on the board and/or committees.

Why volunteer?

  • Professional Networking: Connect with peers in the field.
  • Skill Development: Learn and share new skills.
  • Personal Growth: Boost self-esteem and well-being.
  • Help advance P2 practice in Alberta.

"Volunteering with the Wild Rose Chapter isn't just about giving back; it's about growing personally and professionally.” says IAP2 Wild Rose member Candace Denison.

Send us an email at info@iap2wildrose.ca with the subject line "Volunteer" if you're interested in any of the 2026 opportunities listed below. Let us know:

  • Which committee or subcommittee interests you
  • Your skills or areas of interest
  • How you’d like to contribute

We’ll connect you with the appropriate lead and share next steps. Here’s to navigating new landscapes together in 2026 — and building a stronger Wild Rose Chapter with your support!

P2 Palooza 2026

As we prepare for P2 Palooza 2026, happening May 21-22, 2026, we are excited to bring this year’s theme—“Navigating New Landscapes”—to life. This theme reflects the evolving realities of public participation: shifting expectations, emerging technologies, and new engagement challenges. To create a meaningful, energizing experience for our community, we’re looking for passionate volunteers to join our planning team.

Core Planning Needs

  • Social & Networking
  • Sponsorship & Partnerships
  • Registration & Finance

Additional Subcommittees

  • Logistics & Venue
  • Marketing & Communications

We meet roughly once a month, and we understand that volunteers may not be able to attend every meeting. Your enthusiasm and willingness to contribute—even in small ways—are what make this event successful.

Ongoing Committee Opportunities

IAP2 Wild Rose is always looking for volunteers to support ongoing work that strengthens our chapter year‑round. These committees help guide the chapter’s direction, build community, and enhance the member experience.

Membership, Volunteer & Partnerships (MVP) Committee

Acts as a bridge between the Chapter and its members by:

  • Welcoming new members
  • Identifying volunteer opportunities
  • Celebrating volunteer contributions
  • Identifying potential organizational partnerships

This committee is ideal for volunteers who enjoy community‑building, outreach, and helping people feel connected.

Finance Committee

Supports the chapter by:

  • Providing financial oversight
  • Reviewing and recommending financial sustainability measures

Perfect for volunteers with an interest in budgeting, financial stewardship, or organizational governance.

Communications Committee

Responsible for all outgoing communications, including:

  • Email newsletters
  • Website updates
  • Social media
  • Chapter announcements

Great for volunteers who enjoy writing, editing, designing, or managing digital content.

Professional Development & Networking Events Committee

Helps plan and deliver:

  • Virtual and in‑person training
  • Guest speakers
  • Networking events
  • Workshops and professional development sessions

A strong fit for volunteers who want to help create meaningful learning and connection opportunities for practitioners.

Elections Committee

Ensures a fair and transparent Board election process by:

  • Preparing and presenting the slate of Directors ahead of the AGM
  • Supporting nomination and voting processes

A good option for volunteers who enjoy process, policy, and supporting good governance.
